Entry Three: Getting Down to the Wire

Greetings everyone!

I have important news to share. My farewell will be on 12:00pm February 9th 2025, at 311 N 800 W, West Bountiful, UT! There will be food at my house afterwards (1056 W 400 N, West Bountiful, UT), and then very shortly afterward I will be set apart as a missionary for real! For my friends who are out on missions or cannot attend: don’t worry, there will be a broadcast if you’d like to watch, and I’ll send out my farewell talk the morning of, if anyone wants to read. For those in attendance, feel free to read along as I stutter my words up on stage and then grade my performance afterwards.

Other than that, not much has happened in regards to mission prep aside from shopping and more information being sent out from my mission president. Actually, I got to meet my mission president over zoom the other week, and I can now say with a surety that the TKM is the Best Mission on Earth™. I can’t believe it’s less than 1 month away! Thanks to everyone who’s been with me along the way, I am very grateful for your positive influences.

A quick spiritual thought to end: I’ve been thinking a lot about the sealing powers lately. We read in Malachi 4:5-6 (the very last verses of the old testament),

“Behold, I will send you Elijah the prophet before the coming of the great and dreadful day of the Lord: And he shall turn the heart of the fathers to the children, and the heart of the children to their fathers, lest I come and smite the earth with a curse.”

We know from modern revelation that Elijah came to the Kirtland Temple and restored the sealing power to the saints. The sealing power allows families to be together forever. An interesting revelation I had the other day is that the sealing power can create a tie between souls like no other in this life; for example, when you have a gut feeling to check in on a family member or friend and it turns out attention was needed there. Through the sealing power, our families can become stronger and we will develop this sort of sixth sense for those close to us. The spirit is the medium of this sixth sense. I know the blessings of the sealing power and I am very grateful for the knowledge I will live with my family forever. I say this in the name of Jesus Christ, amen.

Life goes on. When one thing ends another immediately begins its own adventure.
