Entry Six: Living it up in the MTC
2/21/25
I am finally in the MTC! So far I’m actually really liking it, however I have like 10 minutes to write this so I’m going to speedrun it (Turns out I have less free time then I thought when all is said and done).
My final few days with my family were very good. Most notably on the Tuesday when I was supposed to be packing we decided to go to the aquarium in Draper for a late President’s Day outing. I am for sure going to miss being with my family, but I know I am on the Lord’s errand.
Wednesday, or drop off day was very hectic, but as soon as I got settled in it was more manageable. My district has 6 elders, and we are all in the same room. It is incredibly hot all the time, except somehow when we’re sleeping, in which my bunk is a freezer. Actually, come to think of it I just remembered that since Elder Johnson in my district is diabetic, he gets to have a mini fridge in our apartment. The sisters were in disbelief when they heard we were getting one. š
Today my entire district had exercise time together and we played a “very” competitive game of volleyball (my team won). I am loving my district. I am loving my companion. This whole MTC experience is wonderful, even if there’s some questionable things.
Quick little spiritual thought: Go read 1 Corinthians 6:19-20. I especially love how we are bought with a price. Christ kind of purchased our sins through his atonement since he loves us. It is so cool to me that not only am I a divine creation of God, but that I have the chance to be redeemed and return back to Him.
Love you all! Hopefully in coming weeks I’ll manage time better!
As life goes on it doesn’t get easier, you just get stronger.
With lots of love,
Elder Clayton
