Entry Twenty Eight: Daylight Savings Part Two: Electric Boogaloo
7/28/25
How are you lovely folks doing today? Welcome back to another email entry from yours truly! I wanna begin by saying that time zones are very interesting. We had zone conference this week, which is always so worth it, but there were a few issues haha
It’s at 10:00am
It’s a 3 hour drive
There’s a DL meeting we had to be at that began an hour earlier
Oh, and there’s a time zone difference, so we lost an hour along the way
I’m just joking, it wasn’t terrible. The drive was super pretty and I got to see the Tennessee countryside and a tiny bit of Chattanooga. But rest in peace my sleep, we were up practically at 4:30am 😭
It legit felt like it was daylight savings again, this time on steroids.
Zone Conference was super inspiring again (as it always is), and afterwards we hit up another exchange. I got to be with Elder Morgan again, this time in Crossville’s area, and we went and checked out the Bucees there. 10/10 gas station.
There wasn’t too much else for this week, but MLC met and set our mission’s goals for August. We’re going to shoot for 💯 baptisms this next month. I can testify that this is an incredible time to be out on a mission. The gathering of Israel is hastening at speeds I’ve only dreamed about when I was in primary and had the false belief that missionaries were literally gathering the whole world in one spot like some mass exodus.
I actually want to share a couple verses I found during my studies this week. This is at the end of the war chapters (I made it through 🙏) where Moroni is marching back to Zarahemla to reclaim the holy land the capital from dissenters. Essentially, the people are in bondage. Thus it says:
And he did raise the standard of liberty in whatsoever place he did enter, and gained whatsoever force he could in all his march towards the land of Gideon. And it came to pass that thousands did flock unto his standard, and did take up their swords in the defence of their freedom, that they might not come into bondage. (Alma 62:4-5)
It’s really easy to look around our world and see people in bondage; spiritual bondage, at least. The standard of liberty can represent the restored gospel. As missionaries we hold it up, and thousands are currently and will continue to flock to it. It is necessary to survive spiritually in these times, and the people are realizing it. 100 baptisms is a huge goal for our mission, and we can never possibly attain this on our own. But the Lord is hastening his work and we are seeing miracles every single day. I know this is the truth, and I am honored I get to bear it for 2 years. I say this all in the name of Jesus Christ, amen.
Jesus is a God of miracles. Nothing is at all impossible to Him. But I know this, of all His miracles, the most incredible, must be, the miracle that rescues me!
I love you all! Go and watch a sunset, it’s always worth it!
