Entry Fifty Seven: You’re being UnPrOfEsSiOnAl!
Hola mi amigos! So, I was not smart and didn’t have an alarm set for this morning, meaning that I am writing this way later than I aught to. Also, it is our mission-wide companionship appreciation day, so I have even less time than I thought. In short, this email will be short (like my dear companion lol).
We got chewed out by a random customer that we invited to church as we were buying a pen. He said that we were being very unprofessional and threatened to get the manager of the place involved (mind you this was a customer and not an employee). Just plain goofy.
On a more joyful note, we put our friend, Tasha, on date for baptism! She wants to get baptized in a river, and with spring just around the corner, it’s all falling right into place!
Lastly, I wanted to share something I discovered a while ago called “The Language of Love.” I absolutely love the concept, and thought it would be fitting considering it was valentine’s day this weekend.
This language gives some pointers on how to minister more effectively. There are 3 key points to using the language of love, and they are as follows:
Love the person you’re talking to
Love the person you’re teaching with
Love the message you share
As I’ve been able to apply these principles in my missionary work, I feel like I’ve been able to make more of a difference in the lives of those I meet. Even if people don’t agree with what I’m saying or they choose not to make commitments, we both walk away with our heads held high, and I just love that fact!
The love of Jesus Christ is the most powerful force in the universe. It is what fuels his great atoning sacrifice. It is the gift that keeps on giving! I love you all! Share the love of Jesus Christ! That is my plea with you today. In the name of Jesus Christ, amen.
As I have loved you, love one another. This new commandment, love one another. By this shall men know, ye are my disciples, if you have love one for another.
With love,
-Elder Clayton
