Entry Forty One: I'm losing it lol
Hola y'all! Ok so I promise the title is just dramatic; I'm doing pretty good right now! It was a bit of a difficult week, but as a hit youth song once said, “When you feel under pressure, it's just making you stronger. Remember you were born for this. You are a diamond.”
It feels like the mission's focus has gone a little cuckoo crazy for numbers 🤑📈
I can appreciate the focus on working harder and doing everything we can so the spirit can work through us to bring souls to Christ, but it feels like the focus is leaning towards artificially inflating and pushing the numbers. When you push numbers you push people, and I’m not too sure I like that. However, I do believe that the mission President and his wife have the keys of revelation for our mission, so I will follow the best I can hahaha…
On good news, Gary from my last area got baptized yesterday! I found and taught that homie for like 12 weeks, so super exciting to see him commit to baptism!
I want to share a Psalm I heard at a service project this week:
He that dwelleth in the secret place of the most High shall abide under the shadow of the Almighty. (Psalms 91:1)
As I heard this Psalm my mind immediately went to the temple. The phrase, “shadow of the Almighty” also reminded me of a poem my (epic and awesome and really cool) Granma sent me a while back called The Shadow of God. It basically says that in God’s shadow there is only light. The temple brings us light, and I miss it dearly 🥲 Go to the temple if you can! It is literally such a privilege to be able to go on the monthly (it’s been too long 😭)
The law was broken; Jesus died that justice might be satisfied, that man might not remain a slave of death, of hell, or of the grave.
Love y'all, stay safe out there :)
