Entry Fifty Nine: A Tale of Three Addictions

Well, hello everyone! Welcome to March! It has now been approximately one year since I was in the MTC. The Lord has truly blessed me with this experience to be out in the south preaching the fullness of HIs gospel, and I am very excited for this remaining year. I hope you all are well, let’t get into the week.

Our zone ran a district vs district competition, and against all odds, my district managed to scramble our way to the top. I don’t think there’s a reward unfortunately, but like I guess we can take pride and satisfaction :/

We ended up having zone council over zoom. Honestly a very mid experience. But, it saved an unnecessary drive. Also, the sisters in our district were sick, so running district council afterwards was really hectic. We had them on phone call the whole time and they were reading along the slides as I went through them lol. But, they gave fire trainings considering they were incapacitated.

Fate has a sense of humor, as I got sick later in the week. Nothing crazy, just messed with my sleep schedule and made my nose very stuffy and hard to breathe out of. Thank God I’m past it now, I hate being sick.

Not much else to say really. We got 3 friends to church yesterday (pretty good out here), and all 3 of them have a different word of wisdom concern we’re helping them with. They also each are at different levels of concern too. I find great joy in helping people find strength in Christ!

Actually while on the subject, I feel as though the word of wisdom gets a little underrated. This is God’s health-code made specifically for our day! It is so wise that a loving Heavenly Father warned us ahead of time that things such as coffee and tea can be bad for our health. It is so cool to see how over time, scientists are discovering health standards that get ever closer to God’s given law; because it is true!

It is difficult to keep with exactness, but the Lord’s promises are true. As we abstain from harmful substances and take moderation in all other things, we truly will have health in our navels, and marrow in our bones. We will find wisdom and great treasures of knowledge! We will be able to run and not be weary. We will walk and not faint.

The primary purpose of the word of wisdom is to help us keep God’s initial commandment: “Thou shalt not have any other gods before me.” I want to invite you all to take a moment and evaluate where your health is at. Is there something you prioritize more than God? If so, remove it. Is there something that you overindulge in? If so, make a plan to reduce your intake. Again, the Lord’s promises here are so sure!

I testify that God lives! He gives us commandments because he loves us. Consider the blessed and happy state of those who do keep the commandments! (Mosiah 2:41). All he wants is for us to be happy. I say that in the name of Jesus Christ, amen.

My life is a gift; my life has a plan. My life has a purpose; in heaven it bagan. My choice was to come to this lovely home on earth and seek for God’s light to direct me from birth. I will follow God’s plan for me, holding fast to his word and his love. I will work, and I will pray; I will always walk in his way. Then I will be happy on earth and in my home above.

Hey! Hey you! Yeah, I love you 😍

Have a great week!
